Stud Poker Rules

7-card stud poker has become a very popular game and has a large following, this is partially due to the fact that the stud poker rules are fairly simple, making it an easy game for newcomers to pick up on. The object of the game is for players to make the best five card hand out of the seven cards they have been dealt.

Here are the stud poker rules which explain how the game is played:

Stud poker rules state that the game begins with players putting in an ante. The players will then be dealt two cards face down; these cards are the player’s hole cards. They will also be dealt a third card which will be dealt to them face up. Each of the players will take a look at the hole cards they have been dealt. Then, the player who has the lowest face-up card will make a small bet. The betting will continue around the table beginning with the player to the left.

Once the betting round has come to a finish, the players will be dealt a fourth card in the face up position. This card is referred to as the turn card. Once all of the players have been dealt the turn card, there will be another betting round which will begin with the player who has the highest cards showing this time. According to stud poker rules, the betting will continue around the table with the player seated to the left.

Now, the players will be dealt a fifth card which will also be dealt to them face up and this card is referred to as the river. After this fifth card has been dealt, there will be another round of betting, followed by a sixth card which will also be dealt to the players in the face up position next to the others. Stud poker rules dictate that another round of betting will follow the sixth card being dealt.
Finally, a seventh card will be dealt to the players. However, this seventh card is dealt to them in the face down position. There will be a final round of betting which occurs after this seventh card has been dealt. After everyone has made their bet, the players will show their hands and the player who is able to come up with the best five card hand which they have made out of those seven cards will win.
