How much poker money should I deposit to make good use of the poker bonus?

After you have taken the first steps by creating a poker player account at your poker room, you would normally play with play money for a while in order to get used to the user interface. If you are an experienced poker player, you can skip that step and start playing for real money right away.
In this case, the main question now is: how much poker money should I deposit at my poker room?
First of all, take a look at what your poker room offer as a bonus. Most of the time, there is a percentage and maximum amount for that bonus offer. If you want to make full use of the bonus, and the bonus offer says 100% bonus up to $500, then you should deposit $500.If you deposit less, your possible bonus amount will be limited to the amount that you have deposited.

But there is one thing that you should bear in mind, and that is the limit that you are planning to play at. A player at the lowest limits will have problems clearing the full amount of his bonus at many rooms, because of the fact that for low limit play, most rooms do not award a lot of player points. Also, there is a time limit during which you have to clear your bonus.
So for example, if you play $0.02/0.04 ring games at Titan Poker, and deposit the ideal $500, you will never be able to clear the $500 bonus completely. Most poker rooms offer partial payments of bonus, so that you will get some bonus payments but not all.In the given example, depositing $100 should be enough. On the other hand, if at a later time you want to start playing on higher levels, you might regret having deposited only $100.

So as you can see, it can't hurt to deposit more money. Anyway, you can withdraw money at any time.
The one thing that you must consider when you choose your ideal deposit amount is the relation between the limit you want to play on, and the deposit amount. We recommend to deposit at least 300 times the big bet of your playing limit. That way, the normal fluctuations that occur in any poker game won't bankrupt you. So for example, if you wanted to play ring games at the $0.50/1.00 level, we would suggest that you should deposit at least $300. By the way, playing on that level puts you in a position where you should be able to clear a $500 bonus within three months, especially if you are in the habit of playing more than one table at the same time.

If you are a poker beginner and you want to play real money on a low limit for a start and not deposit too much (which is very recommendable for training purposes, because you can hone your playing skills without risking too much money), but your plan is to deposit more money and play at higher levels later, then you have two options: first, you can deposit a small amount first and make a second deposit later (most rooms offer so-called reload bonuses from time to time, although they are not as high as the bonus on the first deposit), or you can choose one room to start your poker career at and move to a different room at a later time. At that second room, you can then deposit a higher amount in order to get the full bonus amount.
Good rooms for beginners would be those where low limit games are being offered and where the minimum deposit is low. Below you find a list with rooms that are ideal for beginners.
